Getting started

Connect your Yoco account

Make a Yoco API key so your sales and menu come through by themselves.

Wins reads your sales and menu from Yoco with an API key. You make the key yourself in Yoco's Developer Console. It only needs permission to read, so it can't take payments or move money.

When you link Yoco, Wins also copies about a year of past sales once, so your margins and profit have history straight away. It keeps only what sold, how many, the totals and the day: no card or customer details.

Make the key

  1. On a computer, open the Yoco Developer Console and sign in with the same login you use for the Yoco Business Portal.
  2. Create a new API key. Give it a name you'll recognise, like "Wins".
  3. Tick these two scopes and nothing else: business/orders:read and business/catalogue:read.
  4. Copy the key. Yoco only shows it once, so paste it into Wins straight away.

Add it to Wins

  1. In Wins, go to Settings › Yoco.
  2. Paste the key and save. Wins checks it with Yoco before saving it.
  3. Your menu comes in straight away, and each item gets a recipe and cost within a few minutes. See it under Menu.

If it doesn't work

  • "Yoco didn't accept this key": the key was copied incompletely, or it was deleted in Yoco. Make a new one.
  • "The key works but is missing the scope…": edit the key in Yoco (or make a new one) and tick the scope it names.
  • No menu comes through: the catalogue scope is missing. Add business/catalogue:read.
Your key is encrypted before it's stored. If you ever think it leaked, delete it in Yoco, make a new one and use Replace key in Wins.
