Questions
How can it know my recipes?+
It starts with a good estimate for each item, the way a chef costing a menu would, using South African prices. As slips come in, the real prices you pay replace the estimates. You can open any item and fix the amounts; your changes always win.
Do I have to type anything in?+
No. Linking Yoco is the only setup. Everything else has a default you can change later: your food-cost target, VAT, categories, recipes.
What does it do with my slips and statements?+
Each one is stored privately for your store only. It's read automatically: cheap, fast checks first, and a stronger AI only for the hard ones. Every total is checked (lines add up, VAT is 15%), and anything that doesn't add up waits for you to look at instead of being guessed.
Does it replace my bookkeeper?+
No, it makes their job easier: every slip is kept, categorised and matched to the bank. Download everything from Settings whenever you need it.
How do you pick R89 or R149?+
It's based on how busy you are. If your Yoco sales average 60 orders or fewer per trading day over the last 30 days, you pay R89 for the month. Above that, R149.
Is my Yoco key safe?+
Your key is encrypted before it's stored, and it only needs read access to orders and items, so it can't move money.
Can I cancel?+
Yes. There's no contract: cancel on the Billing page and you won't be charged again. You can export or delete all your data from Settings at any time.
